In March, the Telegraph published its guide to the best and worst counties in Britain. The methodology was complex based on 41 criteria across 4 main categories: Natural Wonders, History and Culture, Luxuries, and Peace and Quiet. And North Yorkshire ranked 2nd out of all 48 counties.

It's not surprising. In terms of natural wonders the country ranked 3, for history and culture 5, and for luxuries 9. It didn't place in the top 10 for peace and quiet which is not surprising as Settle is a bustling market town and gateway to an explorers paradise, giving access to breath taking scenery for walkers, bikers, cyclists and potholers. The photograph above shows Scalebar Force which is very peaceful place to picnic and is only two miles north of 9 Albert Hill.
